From ALT Graduate to Global Show Control Engineer: Alumni Spotlight on Connor Noble

Since graduating, Connor's career has taken him around the globe, where he has contributed to innovative and ground-breaking projects.  

At ALT, we take pride in celebrating the successes of our alumni, and Connor is no exception. After graduating in Live Visual Design & Production, Connor has embarked on an extraordinary career as a Show Control Engineer with db Show Control & Automation, a leading technical consultancy specializing in show control, AV automation, and IT infrastructure design. Based in the Northeast of England, Connor's work has taken him to some of the most spectacular events and locations across the globe.   

Bringing the World’s Biggest Shows to Life 

Connor's career has been nothing short of a whirlwind since studying with us. Since going full-time with db Show Control & Automation in July, he’s worked on some of the largest and most prestigious projects in the live entertainment industry, including: 

  • Burj Khalifa New Year’s Eve Show (Dubai, UAE) 
    Connor played a pivotal role in one of the world's most iconic celebrations. For two consecutive years, he contributed to the development of the show at the Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. This year, he took on the challenging task of designing and co-developing the network infrastructure that powers the event—a remarkable achievement in show control engineering. 
  • Kiss The Stars (Phu Quoc, Vietnam) 
    Connor worked with ECA2 to create a breathtaking audiovisual spectacle, showcasing his expertise in cutting-edge technology.

  • Johnnie Walker Whisky Experience (Edinburgh, Scotland) 
    In collaboration with BRC and Diageo, Connor contributed to this immersive experience, blending storytelling and technology.

    Connor’s technical expertise helped bring to life this rich cultural and sensory experience for beer lovers worldwide.

Learning and Innovating with Technology 

Connor’s role allows him to continuously expand his expertise on platforms such as Depence, Medialon, and Q-SYS, tools at the forefront of the live event industry. Reflecting on his journey, Connor shares, "This job has taken me to places I never thought I’d visit and given me the opportunity to work on some of the largest spectacles the industry has to offer."
